Here's my facebook status from earlier today....
"In intellectual matters you can think things out, but in spiritual matters you will only think yourself into further wandering thoughts and more confusion. Whatever your facing right now; bring all your "arguments and . . . every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" regarding the matter, and everything will become as clear as daylight to you!"
Last night I received a phone call from a very good friend of mine, he was disturbed on so many levels pertaining to his life, perspective, mentality, spirituality, personal demeanor, relationships, career, etc...no better way to put it then that! He was almost to the point of loosing it and calling it quits, but he decided to dial 10 digits and cried out for help! Now how many of us have been feeling the same way, but do nothing about it? So, we sit all alone in the back of the room and the corners of our minds...thinking, wondering and nearly giving in to our own self torture...Only to be left battling alone and fearful....Many I would say from time to time...
Some would say these ongoing feelings of discontent and confusion that are being spread abroad are a direct result of the world we live in and hard times...On many levels I agree. However, there has to be more going on within this battle of the mind, manners and morals vs. the world and hard times. Besides we all have had our share of ups and downs. And for many of us, hard times have only taught us a lesson or two...nothing to drastic! We may have not enjoyed the course, but we passed it...some of us! As for other's we failed to learn the lesson and as a result we now have to endure the scrutiny and embarrassment of repeating the course! On one hand we should be progressing and moving, but internally we have been held back because our faith is overshadowed with fear, which won't allow us to believe that we can be more then we are! THAT'S REALITY......
What am I trying to say:: What you are experiencing right now is nothing strange and it has not come to kill you! as Whitney Houston stated in her interview with Oprah "I wasn't Built to Break!" Just as this applies to Houston, so does it apply to you! We all we're built differently and sometimes we make the sad mistake of trying to operate outside of how we we're made...which makes life difficult, frustrating and complexed! UNNECESSARY!
Case in point:: A fan was created for one purpose and one purpose only! to circulate air; to cool something or someone down/off! Whether it's a ceiling fan, window fan, church fan or the fan in your computer. The purpose of the fan is singular! Let me ask you something...What is your ONE purpose? and when things get a little heated how do you cool down? when times get hard where do you continue to go about business as normal? Or do jump ship and began to take on a new method of operation? *sigh*
1 Peter 4:12 -13 "Friends, when life gets really difficult, don't jump to the conclusion that God isn't on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner." (Message Bible)
1. Don't panic! There is a lot going on behind the
scenes thenwhat's happening in this stage of your life!
2. Don't think your crazy! God is still with you even
when you can't hear or see him!
3. Don't mess up the process! Good things come out of refining!
...and at the end of this period you will be able to recite the words
of King David when he says:
"My troubles turned out all for the best—
they forced me to learn from your textbook [word or learn your ways]" Psalm 119:71 (Message Bible)
HOLD ON:: DON'T LET GO!
p.s. There can not be a shadow without light somewhere!
